To do so, we use theoretical concepts of Sociology anchored in Georg Simmel, in his essays on sociability, the money and the fashion; the social scientist Erving Goffman, Member of the Chicago School with works on the construction of the personas and the representation of roles in everyday life, analyzing these phenomena through the interaction and dramaturgy; and the french sociologist Michel Maffesoli, theoretical heir of the above researchers and that guides us to understand subjects such as appearance, presenteísmo and private spectacle in public life. As material for analysis we chose the magazine Veja, which over the years has shown the publication with the largest number of copies sold in Brazil. The profiles, then, were selected taking into account the segmentation of own magazine, since in addition to determine who should be the cover story, would be made available on the website see space named "Gente e Memória" (http://veja.abril.com.br/arquivo_veja/gente_memoria.shtml). In it, we are faced with twenty magazines in the category named "brazilian personalities," nine in foreign personalities" and twenty in "memory". In the first group, where we of twenty edits we have 12 and can be considered effectively journalistic profiles. To analyze the sample we use the media discourse analysis with focus on french authors Patrick Chareadeau and Dominique Maingueneau. In order to analyze the content present in the narrative, we have divided these 12 copies on the following themes: 1) body, appearance and beauty; 2) money, power and consumption; 3) health, illness, death and oblivion.
