Resumo:	Studying the official documents that guide education in Brazil, we see that they show how the mathematics teaching and the teaching of the first degree equation was developed in schools over the years and emphasize the importance of problem solving in this discipline. Therefore we will present in this essay a methodological proposal for teaching first-degree equation by solving age problems with the aim of improving teachinglearning in first-degree equations with an unknown part and creating the student's interest in the subject and the content, due to the fact that the content can be richly explored.
