Resumo: This study intends to develop an analysis in regards to the implementation of the National Policy of Comprehensive Care towards the Person Deprived from Freedom (PNAISP) directed to female prison in João Pessoa/PB. It is about a case study, within the social science studies, which was accomplished together with the State Department of Health (SES), State Department of Penitentiary Administration (SEAP) and the Maria Julia Maranhão Female Reeducation Center (CRFMJM) with the goal of identifying impasses and possibilities in which refers to planning, execution and monitoring of actions and health services addressed to the abovementioned penitentiary. Therefore, the methodological path relied on documental research of official, bibliographical and field data. Thereby, through the realization of semi-structured interviews, the production of qualitative data was achieved, which were extremely relevant to enable to articulate the institutional speech of the departments – in which refers to the management and monitoring of health actions -, with the multidisciplinary professionals team in loco - within the policy making level and promotion ofservices. Lastly, the data interpretation versed about aspects related to implementation of PNAISP in the CRFMJM. Thus, the information collected was concatenated from the establishment of analytical categories in the following: contributions for the promotion of a humanized health care.; Difficulties faced in the interior of the PSP; Control action and/or reduction of health problems; Participation of professionals in Capacity Building Courses; Health perception linked to the rehabilitation process; Articulations with the Customer Service Network; and evaluation and monitoring of the health policy in the CRFMJM.
