The present study aims to discuss the importance of the founding of the Female Association for the Advancement Paraibana founded by elite women Paraiba in 1933 with proposals that emerged in search of the conquest of women in public life and the right to education. The Association for the Advancement Female Paraibana was a core of the Brazilian Federation, based in Rio de Janeiro, headed by Bertha Lutz. After 11 years settled down Paraibana the Association for the Advancement of Female Normal School at headquarters, in João Pessoa / PB. The board was composed of prominent women in society by acting in Paraiba educational system. Used as sources of research articles published in the The Union, the official organ of the State of Paraíba who published articles advocating women's suffrage and access to education, contributing thus potentially revealing elements in the construction of the rights of female political empowerment at the time and disseminating discussions on this theme present in the rest of the country, promoting reflection on the division of spaces and social roles assigned to men and women in society. Given the importance of Paraíba Association for the Advancement of Women, to win this one page biweekly organ of the state official, trainer of ideological conceptions, the newspaper The Union, the source of no so research work. We seek to highlight the contributions of the Association for the Advancement Paraibana Women in education, in order to see that through education women would conquers in the realization ofwomen´srights.
