Resumo: The dissertation developed in accordance with the standards set by the Post Graduate Program in Education, Research in Popular Education, of the Federal University of Paraiba. The argument of the text refers to the systematization of research developed with a focus on the contribuions of the Programa Projovem Campo Saberes da Terra [Pro-rural youth knowledge of the land] in Pernambuco (2008 Edition) for Rural and Farmhand educators from an emancipatory perspective. The way of problematizing these contributions, in an emancipatory way, was inspired by the studies of Paulo Freire, João Francisco de Souza, Alder Júlio Calado and José Francisco de Melo Neto in the field of popular education; and also the studies of Miguel Arroyo, Roseli Caldart, Monica Molina and Antônio Munarin on Rural Education. From the methodological point of view, the study focused qualitative research with a critical dialectical approach. Thus such aspects as the everyday life of the participants, the cultural spaces of their experience, and even the life of the researcher are in an ongoing relationship. Along this line of study we can define the central concepts of the orientation of our analysis: Rural workers, Rural Education and Emancipation. The thematic categories are the associated powers: the argumentative, the organizational and the intervenor. From this conceptualization and categorization we elected to procede with an analysis of content of a collective interview (educators) and focus group (students). This process of content analysis, from records of conversations taken from interviews and the focus group, allowed us to make a reading of the significant units and their subcategories. The interpretative analysis of this discourse made us able to tell about the contributions of the Pro-Rural youth Knowledge of the Land Program through the perspective of emancipation, in the context of the powers associated with and their implications in the emancipatory process. There are indicatdions of re-invention in ways of seeing themselves as subjects of the community, the value of education, with an integrated curriculum, generating new knowledge and transformations in the modes of work and labor relations, the sense of belonging to the land where they live and work and the desire for change, to confront the problems of community. We were able to find evidence that in the contruction and strengthening of the Associated Powers human emancipation becomes reinvented, motivated by desires and dreams, realized in struggles and common projects, and made practical in the means and relations of work, of culture which is routinely reproduced or recreated in the contradictions of living.
