Resumo: | This dissertation is the result of a Master s research proposal in Education Cultural Studies line and problematizes the construction of teacher s identity through a specific culture of agreste pernambucano, the Sulanca, which develops from the production and trade of clothing parts. This activity appears as predominant in the city of Santa Cruz do Capibaribe in Pernambuco, and often produces a devaluation of educational processes and teaching. To understand how this process occurs, we have listen 20 teachers: 2 males and 18 females, residents in Santa Cruz do Capibaribe for over 10 years (the period in which they arise some institutions of higher learning in the city). The interviewees talked about the significations and possibilities that produce that space. The interviews were recorded and transcribed and the data analyzed were inspired by the method of content analysis of Bardin (1977), which were divided into three categories: the choice for teaching, the social place of the teacher, and the significations about the profession. Thus, it was revealed that Sulanca touches the identity of the teacher in various ways: in everyday school life, the relationship with parents and students and the value that is assigned to the teacher (as opposed to Sulanqueiro). Such interference of clothing manufacturer activity makes the teacher to produce a particular way of being, in which sustains its choice through the senses that attaches to his/her work. |
