Resumo: | This dissertation consists of two works, all related to the epidemiology of hemoparasites Anaplasma marginale, Babesia spp. and Trypanosoma vivax in cattle in the Brejo Paraibano microregion. The first article describes the occurrence of T. vivax and the second the prevalence of A. Marginale and Babesia spp. During the last decades, Brazil has established itself as a major producer and exporter of beef and beef milk producer. Some parasitic diseases constitute limiting factors to the development of cattle ranching in tropical and subtropical areas, among which hemoparasitoses stand out; among these diseases, trypanosomiasis and bovine parasitic sadness (BPD) are on the list of the most important. Taking into account the impacts on the economy caused by hemoparasites in animal production and the scarcity of studies on these diseases in the state of Paraíba, the objective was to carry out an epidemiological survey of bovine trypanosomiasis and bovine parasitic sadness (TPB) in the microregion of Brejo Paraibano. In view of the study, it can be concluded that there is the presence of Trypanosoma vivax in the microregion of the Paraiba swamp and that there is a high prevalence of Babesia spp. and Anaplasma Marginale in this same region, which can represent risks related to the health of the herd and consequently economic losses of great impact for the producers, since these diseases directly affect livestock activity. |
