Resumo: | This dissertation has as objective to investigate the discursive networks that tried to build a local identity based on education in the beginning of the 20th century in the city of Campina Grande/PB. This study suggests an interest on the historicity of the emergence of a preoccupation over teaching and problematizes the conditions in which the rising of an idea of education is possible attached to the idea of modernity. We apprehend how the discourses of progress were associated to the pedagogical discourse in the attempt to transform Campina Grande into a modern and civilized city. Thus, we investigate the networks, the strands that unravel and give visibility to such question from the discourse practices of Ronaldo Dinoá and the local newspapers. As a reference we‟ve used the work Memories of Campina Grande and the many speeches published in the printed newspapers that circulated around the city at the time, investigating how the enunciations elaborated a notion of education articulated to a need of naming it as the main tool to reach the pedagogical modernity. So, we try to escape a historicity that privileges only the material configurations of the modern desire, casting a more subjective look as a possibility to approach the pedagogical modernity, understanding it as disarrangement between continuities and discontinuities, as rupture and singularities. We take the period between 1919 (year of the foundation of a private school in the city the Campinense Pedagogical Institute) and 1945, due to this one being the end of the term of Lieutenant Alfredo Dantas in that Institute, caused by his death. We‟ve tried to write the story of the discursive practices taking the discourse analysis as the method. |
