Resumo: | Information Management as a process of creating and sharing information has been highlighted in public and private organizations, enabling and promoting efficient and innovative practices in professional daily life. The recent cuts in the budgets of federal universities have been inducing institutions to resort to Information Management as a way to reduce costs, to assist and produce information quickly and effectively. This research aims to analyze information management practices in the PPGMAT Coordination and in the Mathematics Department - CCEN/UFPB, as well as to propose the use of tools that can be used to improve the sharing of actions and information in these units. We take as theoretical foundation authors who discuss Information Management in Organizations, such as Almeida (2012), Gonçalves (2010) and Terra (2013); when discussing Federal Institutions of Higher Education - IFES, we took texts from Bowers, 2015, Schwartz, et al. (2010), among others. For data collection, a semi-structured questionnaire was used in google forms with professors, administrative technicians and students of these units. Data analysis indicated that the researched units had, in recent years, a small advance in Information Management, lacking, however, innovations and improvements in the application of a simple tool that facilitates necessary information for the administrative and academic routine in the units. In this sense, a manual was produced containing tools and practices that can be used to meet the aforementioned demands, such as a system for opening requests on existing pages, a synchronous means of communication, stock control of the units, a repository of documents and others. The knowledge acquired in this research and structured in the manual can be used in units, positively impacting the institution's Information Management. |
