Resumo: | From Latin, palimpsestus: “what is scratched to write again”. Here, inferred from this medieval technique, a poetic work is given by name: a copy of the novel Memórias do Cárcere, by Graciliano Ramos, and another of The Undergrounds of the Vatican, by André Gide, were taken to suffer, on each page, suppressions in the body of the text. From the fragments, kept together only by the respective physical volumes of the specimens, two entirely different narratives result; formed in two artist books that make up the Palimpsest trilogy. One opens and the other closes the dissertation. Each one appears, in its own moment, alternating with the dissertation text of a research that, under the signs of the foreigner, trauma, testimony and anomie, comments on passages from the Book of books and ends up in the literary legacies of the last great war. Enclave, the artist's third book (with copyrighted image and text), shares this path. |
