Resumo: |
The purpose of the present research was to investigate the social representations of the higher education academic community on the spread of the distance higher education modality, especially in the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, seeking to analyze contextual elements of the transformations of social reality resulting from this phenomenon. Therefore, it was proposed the development of an exploratory research, with a qualitative approach, through the accomplishment of a case study with a delimited group of academics and professors of higher education at a distance from a university in the south of Brazil. Conducting the research provided greater familiarity with the researched problem, generating hypotheses and knowledge about the social representations of the academic community and about the social context related to the proposed theme.The research results also directed information and reflections on distance education and the education market and social implications arising from the current economic system. |
