Resumo: |
Congenital toxoplasmosis is a serious public health problem due to the health risks and potential useful life that the conceptus exposes. Objectives: To verify the knowledge of nurses from the Basic Health Units and Family Health Strategies in the city of Santa Maria about congenital toxoplasmosis and build an educational booklet on congenital toxoplasmosis for professional nurses of the Basic Health Units and Family Health Strategies in the municipality of Santa Maria, RS. Methodology: This is a research with a quantitative, descriptive and exploratory approach, with a non-probabilistic and intentional sample. The research was conducted at Basic Health Units and Family Health Strategies in the city of Santa Maria, RS, and the population consisted of ten nurses working in these scenarios. For data collection, structured interviews were carried out using a form filled in by the researcher. Data were tabulated and stored in Microsoft Excel software, with independent double entry. Later, grouped and analyzed using simple descriptive statistics. For the construction of the technical product, that is, an educational booklet on congenital toxoplasmosis for nurses who attend prenatal care in Primary Health Care, the following were considered, for its construction and methodological structuring: clear and objective language; light and attractive look; suitability to the target audience; and, reliability of information. Therefore, in terms of content, the booklet is organized into five chapters with the themes: 1) Signs and symptoms of congenital toxoplasmosis; 2) Complications of congenital toxoplasmosis; 3) Prevention actions; 4) Considerations for the pregnant woman; and, 5) Reference places in the city for monitoring and treatment of congenital toxoplasmosis. It should be noted that the texts referring to the themes were written based on scientific evidence from national and international literature. This is because, according to the formulation of educational material, it must be based on scientific evidence. The figures and textual elements sought to attractively involve the target audience and draw attention to the theme, both online and in print. Results: that nurses working in Primary Care and who agreed to participate in the study were young women with at least specialization and previous experience in health education. Still, most nurses presented expanded conceptions about congenital toxoplasmosis, in general terms. However, there was a need for greater depth and discussions on the topic addressed in daily work, as well as the need for educational products and technologies that support the information and guidance provided by nurses in prenatal consultations. The process of elaborating the technological product took place in stages, from the identification of nurses' knowledge on the subject, a comprehensive review of the literature on congenital toxoplasmosis, approval by the Permanent Health Education Center and the Health Research Ethics Committee for the purposes of primary research, selection of scientific material, preparation of layout and text to be included in the educational booklet. The educational booklet on congenital toxoplasmosis, as a trigger for health actions in primary care, brings the promotion of information and guidance as a foundation for the construction of knowledge aimed at preventing the disease and promoting health. Product generated and applicability: The product generated by this dissertation is an educational booklet entitled Congenital Toxoplasmosis: what you need to know. This product is characterized as a health management tool, especially in the Maternal and Child context, due to the understanding that the development of an educational technology of care is considered a triggering tool for the management processes of health services, for guiding knowledge about care practices. Thus, its applicability in the context of pregnant women scales national health policies, enabling access to guidance on this approach, with potential for replicability in other scenarios in the national context. |
