Resumo: Toxoplasmosis is an infection that affects nearly one third of the world population. In the adult, not always symptomatic, however important events in children, by transplacental transmission. The Pre-Christmas is an important moment with actions directed to the care of the woman in pregnancy to prevent diseases that compromise the life of the mother and child. This is a descriptive qualitative study aiming to understand the perception of nurses and pregnant women about toxoplasmosis of Prenatal Primary Care. Was performed in 05 units of primary health care in the municipality of São Luis - MA. The sample consisted of 15 nurses working in nursing consultation and 15 pregnant women attended prenatal. To collect data we used a semi-structured questionnaire and an interview guide covering issues related to knowledge and behaviors about toxoplasmosis. The analysis was performed using the technique of content analysis. The results showed the following categories: Knowledge of toxoplasmosis; Guidance during prenatal visits; Nurses' knowledge of the avidity test; Conduct and guidelines reagents cases. Pregnant women showed ignorance about Toxoplasmosis and its effects. However, nurses demonstrated a basic, but of little usefulness as regards the guidelines for mom. It is emphasized that the nurse plays an important role in educational actions for pregnant women, contributing to the quality of prenatal care.
