Resumo: The puerperium is a phase of changes in women's bodies and minds, which are often misunderstood by women. Therefore, the medical team must pay greater attention to their care. Given this situation, this study aims to present actions and strategies in which the Primary Health Care (PHC) team must monitor and promote tips and techniques to help these mothers during the puerperal period. Objectives: To promote primary health care actions and strategies and the conditions for their assessment and care in maternity units during the puerperal period; to prepare a booklet with guidelines on the puerperal period, highlighting care strategies for puerperal women. Methodology: This is a field research with a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive approach. Qualitative research with puerperal women is concerned with the reality, meanings, motives, beliefs, values and attitudes that people attribute to their experiences. For this research, an informative booklet was created, with the aim of promoting knowledge among postpartum women about all the changes that occur during this period and that are completely normal. To this end, we collected reports from interviews conducted with women treated at the outpatient clinic of Casa de Saúde de Santa Maria, RS. Results: It was possible to perceive that women experience specific demands during this period, such as difficulties related to breastfeeding, sleep deprivation and emotional impacts. In addition, the importance of family, community and professional support networks that can alleviate the weight of responsibilities and promote the well-being of mothers is highlighted. Final Considerations: The study conducted teaches us that the postpartum period, although challenging, is also an opportunity for growth, learning and strengthening of bonds. Reflecting on their needs and experiences invites us to build a more empathetic society, where motherhood is seen not as an individual burden, but as a collective journey that deserves support, understanding and appreciation. May the insights from this work inspire new ways of welcoming, supporting and positively transforming this stage of women's lives. Product and its applicability: It is expected that with the booklet created, the women involved can feel calmer and, above all, more confident in facing one of the most important and intense periods of their lives.
