Resumo: To develop an informative booklet on the adverse effects and drug interactions of hormonal contraceptive methods in order to avoid unplanned pregnancies; and to analyze the perception of women assisted in Primary Health Care about adverse reactions and drug interactions of contraceptives. Method: For the elaboration of the informative booklet, the following steps were considered: situational diagnosis carried out through field research, with a qualitative approach, developed with 17 women who used hormonal contraceptive methods and who had unplanned pregnancies. Data collection was carried out between January and March 2022, and data were analyzed according to thematic content analysis. The ethical aspects of Resolution nº 466/2012 were respected. Still, in order to substantiate the information in the booklet, an integrative review was carried out. The search was carried out in March 2023 in the Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Scientific Electronic Library Online and National Library of Medicine databases via the Virtual Health Library. The analysis corpus consisted of 8 articles. Results: The process and development of the technological product took place in stages, from identifying the most frequent doubts of women through field research, to identifying drug interactions and adverse effects found in the literature, selection of scientific material and preparation of layout and text to be included in the booklet. Afterwards, the booklet was presented and evaluated by the examining board regarding content and layout. It was evident that women lack information about adverse effects and drug interactions that can reduce the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives. Conclusions: the booklet will contribute to the health education actions that will be developed with the women assisted in the PHC, since it allows them to identify what are the drug interactions and adverse effects that may occur during the use of the contraceptive method, as well as how to prevent them through guidelines that are scientifically proven. Product and its applicability: The product generated through this dissertation is a booklet entitled How to avoid an unplanned pregnancy even when using hormonal contraceptives, which was developed as a strategy to be used by health professionals and women to prevent unplanned pregnancy. planned. This technology can contribute in a promising and intuitive way to achieving better care and management practices in the context of Primary Health Care.
