Resumo: Teaching and learning models based only on the transmission and repetition of knowledge, disconnected from reality, no longer suit the needs of the contemporary world, new teaching and learning strategies are needed. In this context and with the aim of promoting learning in a significant way, using real problems of industry and society, the SENAI Mato Grosso education innovation itinerary was developed, with the SENAI Innovation Grand Prix, SENAI Challenge of Integrating Projects, INOVA SENAI Mato Grosso and INOVA SENAI Nacional. For the theoretical basis of the research, concepts of innovation, innovation in education, entrepreneurial education and active learning methodologies were addressed. The present study is characterized as a descriptive participatory research, with a qualitative approach. With the documentary research, which addressed the actions developed by SENAI Mato Grosso, in the context of the education innovation itinerary from 2015 to 2019, with a survey of the number of participating students, ideas generated, projects developed, performing a qualitative analysis of the data generated in this time course. From the results obtained from the study, it points to a great mobilization and incentive to innovation in the operational units of SENAI Mato Grosso, with the public notices and programs that have already been consolidated in the institution over the years and influencing a large number of students, with projects approved nationally and a startup created during the itinerary. However, improvement points are observed for the whole process, over the years there has been a decrease and discontinuity of projects, and consequently a decrease in the number of students participating in the innovation itinerary. The research shows the need for alignment strategies between the actions of the itinerary with the pedagogical practices in the classroom, for the continuity of the projects.
