Resumo: | Nursing since its inception carries design help, donations and vocation with its meaning, but this way of thinking idealized contrasts with the difficulties of effective worker nurse, who sells his labor power and is subject to the capitalist mode of exploitation thus ensuring their livelihoods. At any moment in history, the work takes different forms depending on the modes of production, and only human beings are able to create and recreate it. Thus the aim of this thesis was to analyze the conceptions that undergraduate nursing students have about the profession at the beginning and end of the course and relate these concepts to the precariousness of work in nursing. To achieve the objectives we use the methodology of field research, qualitative approach, we conducted semi-structured interviews with students entering undergraduate degree in nursing in 2012/1 of a Higher Education Institution Federal (HEIF), and also students graduating in 2012 / 1 of that HEIF. They answered the question: what it means to be a nurse, and why they are doing this course? Data collection began after consideration of the Ethics Committee in Research of the University Hospital Júlio Müller, Cuiaba - MT, protocol 161/CEP- HUJM/2011. The interviews took place in March and April 2012, with a total of 9 respondents, 4 entering students and 5 ending students of graduating. The method was dialectical materialist history, as a reference to be adopted, because through a historical interpretation of social reality and the correlation of these conceptions proceed. As final results of this research can be stated that the freshman students assigned to nursing a character valuation of human contact, help, as a way to meet each other, we can still observe that some of these students indicated a choice of profession as being cost-effective and stable. In return the students graduating have not shown the same design over previous, and reverse, having a professional character, as forms of work in nursing and health, focusing on the performance of procedures, prevention and patient guidance and giving greater emphasis on the administrative part of the profession. Thus we see that nursing ceases to have a character of charity or help, turning to a demonstration of professional activity. In a preliminary analysis, we can substantiate these differences to the historical moments of nursing, grounded in current conception of nursing in the 80's, indicating the beginning of a change, and understanding of nursing as a job, based on the restructuring of production arising from this period. We consider how the fact of nursing have the design the stamp and vocational help, has prevented new ways to organize their employees, strive for new ways of working conditions, risk free, with appropriate conditions of application and security, as well as Journeys fair and less painful, besides strengthening the relationship of perceived capitalist mode of production and is reflected in the forms of precarious employment on health. Further studies should indicate the need for further development of the subject and thus enable overcoming the limitations characteristic of his profession. |
