Resumo: | Bats present importance in the homeostasis of ecosystems and are hosts a rich diversity of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses and fungi with pathogenic potential. Therefore, this study aimed to isolate and identify the main opportunistic and pathogenic fungi from biological samples of bats in the city of Sinop-MT, which confers large areas of deforestation to urbanization and agriculture. 48 bats were captured, in 11 sites defined according to flow of people and domestic animals, to obtain biological samples and dry feces from the shelters. These samples were processed and submitted to microbiological cultures, for isolation and identification of genus and fungi species. From this total, the Molossus molossus species (31 bats/65%) presented a greater number of isolates. Of the 48 isolated bats, 30 (62.5%) presented fungi, isolated from fresh excreta, intestines, lungs, livers and blood samples of bats, which were Penicillium sp Scopulariopsis sp, Fusarium sp, Aspergillus sp Alternaria sp, Basidiobolus sp, Cryptococcus sp Trichosporon sp and Candida sp. From the dried feces collected from the shelters were also isolated Candida sp, Cryptococcus sp, Fusarium sp, Penicillium sp, Aspergillus sp, Rhizopus sp and Mucor sp, which may be the cause of opportunistic infections. Our results demonstrate that bats captured in the city of Sinop-MT, can act as fungal carriers with pathogenic potential, increasing the risk of exposure and acquisition of opportunistic fungal infections by people and domestic animals. |
