Resumo: | In dealing with contemporary statements in the Brazilian political scene that reverberate against communism, it is fundamental to think of anticommunism in Brazil, the decade of 1930 being a crucial moment for the expansion and consolidation of anti-communist propaganda. Faced with a troubled political context and intense disputes, anti-communism intensified in the eyes of an increasingly fearful elite that the contending ideas of its status quo gained wide acceptance among the working classes. In this same scenario, which encompasses the crisis of the liberal democratic model, the rise of nationalist and fascist extremist expressions was observed in world, reflected in Brazil with the formation of the authoritarian government of the Estado Novo, in force between 1937 and 1945. In this sense, the purpose of this study is to analyze how the religious and partisan press in Cuiabá, the capital of Mato Grosso, faced the anticommunist debates of the years 1930 to 1945. In dialogue with the French historian Rauol Girardet, the aim is to understand the constructions of political and conspiratorial myths against this other political expression, communism, as well as everything that it represented, challenged and reverberated. |
