Resumo: This research looked for to investigate the life´s trajetorie of the black students in the Courses of Nutrition life, Nursing and Medicine from UFMT. The objective was to identify as those students got to obtain success in the school process until the University, the strategy types that developed highlighting, and of support received, as well as the challenges that, probably, were part of this trajetorie. For the collection of the data, the technique used was “History of Life”, based in Becker (1999). For this research were registered “Histories of Life” of fifteen black students, being five of each course. To sustain the analyses done in this work, different authors were constituted as base in the search of understanding the object of the research. In refers to the forms of color classification in Brazil, Nogueira (1985) and Petruccelli (1998) were fundamental to understand of that theme. Hall (1999) and Woorward (2000) offered theoretical support in the study of the identity. To understand how were elaborated and built the life projects of those students until the University, aiming to a possible social ascension, it was anchored in the studies of Azevedo (1955), Teixeira (2003a), Velho (1999) e Pastore (1997). The life´s trajetorie of black students interviewed showed the importance of the nets of help and solidarity of the families, relatives and friends, that was fundamental for the accomplishment of their life projects.
