Resumo: | This paper presents discussions related to the history of leprosy. Our analysis seeks to problematize the social stigma imputed to patients affected by the disease, who had their identities manipulated by disciplinary devices that produce subjectivities in the institutional context. To this end, it addresses the colony of São Julião, located in the southern part of the old state of Mato Grosso, throughout the twentieth century. A total institution, used as a leprosy in which the patients who were kept and forced to live in a closed intramural system. This way, it is necessary to understand the experience and survival strategies woven into the daily life of this institution. In addition, we seek to question the discourses about women, embodied as beings marked by certain standardized identities. Is in the context of this historical-political discussion of the genre that is based our reflections on women's difficulties in the process of tracking strategies, both in life and in their return to society. |
