The Papagaio auriferous deposit is situated in Paranaita City, far north on state of Mato Grosso, within the geological context of the sector northwest of Alta Floresta gold province. Hosted rocks occur in subvolcanic felsic that was affected by strong pervasive sericitic alteration, buoyed by intense potassic alteration. The ore paragenesis denoted by pyrite + sphalerite + chalcopyrite ± covellite, is associated with stockworks and quartz vein systems in the NE with dips sub-vertical overprinting sectors hydrothermal alteration. Studies of fluid inclusions show salinity fluids and elevated temperature (> 325 ° C and 24% eq. NaCl) had an essential role in the mineralization zones of the deposit. In this context, the placement of sub-volcanic bodies have been essential in the genesis of Papagaio’s gold mineralization, it would have served as a source of heat, fluid and metals for the system of a site magmatic-hydrothermal, possibly similar like the gold porphyry systems type.
