Resumo: Some factors such as wood color, durability, high commercial value, and versatility of use, make teak (Tectona grandis Linn. f.) appreciated all over the world, mainly for the shipbuilding industry. Parallel to the constant growth in planted areas, there are also reports on the appearance of biotic and abiotic problems in teak cultivation. Among these, Ceratocystis wilt caused by the fungus Ceratocystis fimbriata currently stands out, this disease can cause symptoms such as wilting, wood darkening, wood stains and plant mortality, directly influencing the quality of the wood. Given the above, this work aimed to study the population structure and genetic diversity of a diverse collection of teak genotypes and perform associative mapping for resistance to Ceratocystis wilt. Based on genotyping data via sequencing of 211 genotypes and approximately 1.4 million SNPs, it was possible to identify four subpopulations with genetic divergence among them and to identify three candidate genomic regions associated with resistance to Ceratocystis wilt. This was the study using GWAS in teak for resistance to Ceratocystis wilt, contributing to advances in scientific and technical knowledge of teak culture, revealing information about the genetic diversity of genotypes and adding technological value to the culture, introducing a pioneering and innovative approach.
