Resumo: |
In our everyday as English teacher, we realize the lack of interest among high school students, although there is a large array of young people by listening to songs in English. Thus, it seemed pertinent to study a methodology that involves the students' musical tastes. Inspired by the Recepcional Method, wich was developed by Bordini & Aguiar (1993), we chose as the methodological approach the application of researchs through questionnaires in two schools: Olivia Angela Furlani and Regina Valarine Vieira. With the information about the Horizon Expectations of adolescents, that is, their favorite music we developed a didactic sequence in accordance with the method and supported by Recepcional theoretical assumptions of the Aesthetics of Reception. The activities were implemented only for the students of Olivia Angela who actively participated in lessons. This study on the reception of Anglo-American pop music has contributed to thinking of other opportunities to teach English to high school students. Currently, and even considering the results, we strive to disseminate principles and procedures for using and encouraging other English teachers from public schools to conduct activities grounded in Recepcional method with the objective of awaking in students a greater interest in school. |
