Resumo: |
The dissertation aims to unveil the rhetorical devices used by journalistic narration in the attribution of a hegemonic sense of everyday life in Campo Grande, capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, in the central-west region of Brazil. At the theoretical-conceptual level, the research assumes that the relationship between journalism and everyday life refers to a circular process that involves – on the one hand – transcoding and – on the other – dissemination through the news mode of narration (aesthetic pattern- expressive) of the parameters of instrumental rationality (cultural pattern) that guide modern sociability in its most diverse symbolic contracts for the organization of daily life. As an empirical cut, the narrative construction of everyday life is analyzed through the lens of daily journalism from the Campo Grande News portal, one of the most traditional vehicles in the capital. For this, the analysis was subdivided into two stages: the first, of a quantitative nature, encompasses a survey and systematization of the news published in the first two months of 2022 in the Capital editorial. The second stage includes an analysis of the rhetorical strategies of the news subdivided into 13 thematic units. It was found throughout the analysis that the complexity of everyday life in this regional context is journalistically abbreviated in themes and rhetorical resources that attribute a sense of instrumentalization to everyday life as a constituent element of the hegemonic rationality and regularity of the capitalist mode of production. |
