Resumo: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of two luting agents on the ceramic cores compressive strength. Twenty gypsum dies were made from a steel one prepared for a total crown. The dies were divided into two groups for the confection of the cores of the Procera and IPS Empress 2. Each group was then divided into two sub-groups, alternating the zinc phosphate (SS White®) and resin cements (C&B Bisco®). The marginal gap was measured in a microscope (15x). After the cementation, the center of the oclusal surface on each specimens was axially loaded to fracture in a universal testing machine, and the maximum load was recorded. The data was submitted to the analysis of Variance and the Tukey test (p<0,05). There was not a significant difference between both cements for the Procera. The Empress 2 was more resistant when fixed with resin cement in relation to the zinc phosphate cement.
