Resumo: The following research addresses the project experience entitled Cinema and Self-Care Course at School. The course, of which I was one of the mediators and proponent, took place in Uberlândia/MG, during the coronavirus pandemic, remotely. The proposal consisted of an audiovisual and cinematographic intervention directed to students from the 9th grade of elementary school to the 3rd grade of high school in public schools, to deal with self-care as a creative act. This experience allowed me to reflect on how cinema can offer a ground that promotes encounters to elaborate afflictive emotions, through creative processes considered as a possible way out of the agonies generated by social isolation. Through a perspective of care that concerns a shift toward cosmopoetics and decolonial visions relating to oneself, with others and to one's surroundings. As a research methodology, I adopt a cartographic gesture, seeking to elaborate my personal life experiences, which covers contemplative techniques, such as meditation and yoga, experiences in the cinematographic art field as a director, and other audiovisual practices in indigenous and rural school contexts, to establish connections between cinema, intercultural education, and practices of care.
