The current study makes an approach to the topic The Audit in SUS, based in a study of unique case, which unit analysis is the Assistance Audit System of the Unified Health System in the Minas Gerais State (SAA/SUS/MG). This system is described and evaluated based on the following dimensions: Structure, Process and Result. Data was collected through the participant observation, bibliographic research, documents consultation and questionnaires. The results and the discussion are presented in an interpretative dissertation in the session: The Audit Practice in the SAA/SUS/MG A Study of Case, which contains the comparison among collected data from the SUS legislation and documentation of service and the data obtained through the different techniques and instruments used in this research. It was verified that the failures found were mainly due to the lack of objectivity of system principles and guidelines and this problem was also found in the SUS National Audit System as whole, once that from the beginning of the system there is no definition about the organization, attribution and its manner of operation.
