Um modelo relacional entre macroambiente, ambiente competitivo, postura estratégica e desempenho organizacional: um estudo no setor siderúrgico

Resumo: This work discourses about strategic modelling in the Brazilian steel sector. This research started with the hypothesis of that a linear model doesnt adequately foresee the dynamical relationship between different constructs in the scope of the enterprise strategy. Relations between theoretical constructs had been defined, which had its indicators determined for an initial exploratory research, using the Delphi technique, with professors and Brazilian researchers of the area of Strategy,as well as with executives of steel Brazilian companies who act in the area of Enterprise Strategy. The validation of the theoretical proposed model and its respective indicators was, in a further step, confirmed by using structural equations, leading to adaptations and modifications in the theoretical model initially considered, covering the constructs macro-environment, competitive environment, strategic approach and organizational performance (past, present and future). Later, a comparison between linear predictive models and nonlinear predictive models was lead, using, respectively, structural equations and artificial neural networks. For all the indicators of the organizational performance it was confirmed the hypothesis of that a nonlinear model is better to make forecasting than a linear model
