Resumo: | This dissertation has as its theme the leisure at The Lavradio Fair. We seek analyze the constitution of leisure in the dynamics of the Lavradio Fair considering the activities that take place, the forms of sociability, the interrelations between peopl, including: organizers, exhibitors, people attending the fair, street vendors, security guards and the importance of the fair as a tourist attraction for the city of Rio de Janeiro. Previous works on the theme of fairs deals with mostly on food fairs that occur in differentcities and neighborhoods daily or weekly which in a way can help to understand the Lavradio Fair, because although they have different products and objectives, the dynamics can be the same. Understanding that the fairs, despite being common practices in Brazil, are little studied, much less in relation to leisure, this research can point out other angles about the debate regarding leisure, fair, street and tourism themes, contributing to the inttelectual production about these issues in the Brazilian scenario. From a exploratory and descriptive perspective (GIL, 2008), this study was accomplished using bibliographical and field research. Taking in consideration the variety of procedures used to collect information and how the data were analyzed, this research is characterized by a qualitative and quantitative nature. The fair takes place on the first Saturday of each month in Lavradio Street, Lapa District and brings together more than 400 exhibitors per edition, which are allocated in masonry stands set up along the length of the street. The Lavradio Fair is a leisure area due to the numerous cultural events that take place all over the perimeter due to the following factors: It has products that appeal to the most diverse types of public, to be held in the Lapa Quarter, considered one of the main places of leisure in the city of Rio de Janeiro, has numerous bars and attractions in and around its perimeter of achievement and be inserted in a region that has countless other tourist sites in the city in which individuals can experience their leisure time. |
