Avaliação do desenvolvimento motor grosseiro e de fatores de risco para o atraso na aquisição destas habilidades em crianças com faixa etária de 4 a vinte e quatro meses na zona rural do distrito de Senhora do Carmo, Itabira, MG, Brasil, 2009

Resumo: | The World Health Organization (WHO) defines motor gross development (MGD), the acquisition of necessary skills for self-erect locomotion. The aim of this study was to evaluate the acquisition of the six milestones of MGD and risk factors for suspicion of delay in acquisition of these objectives in the agricultural zone, using as referencedata and the scale of MGD of the Multicentre Growth Reference Study (MGRS). This study was conducted in the district of Senhora do Carmo, Itabira, MG, Brazil. Were evaluated fifty (50) children between 4 to twenty four months. It was performed an evaluation and comparison of data obtained through the protocol of acquisition of the six milestones and MGD reference proposed by WHO in 2006. Data concerning birthweight, current weight, current height, age, duration of breastfeeding, income, hemoglobin, carrying the childs health record (CHR) and completion of development in the CHR were acquired. The results were 15 (30,0%) children had suspicion of delay in acquisition of skills assessed, 6 (12,0%) children had low birth weight, 44 (86,0%) children presented eutrophic nutritional status, 3 (6,0%) had short statureand 4 (8,0%) had low weight, resulting 7 (14,0%) children presenting bad nutrition status, 42 children(82,0%) were from families whose income was less than 1 minimum wage, 37 (72,0 %) breastfeed for a time greater than or equal to 6 months of age, 14 (28,0%) for less than 6 months old, 51 (100,0%) had a CHR, however, the motor development was totally developed in only 8 ( 16,0%) of them. There was a significant correlation between the suspicion of delay in gross motor development,anemia income and age. It was concluded that the prevalence of the outcome was high and similar to that found in other regions of the country presenting multifactorial causes. |
