Romans got profit from Greek retorics to construct their oratory, taken,then, as the functional art of persuasive discourse. Quintilian is taken as the one who gives voice and body to this oratory, when he favors the dialogue between the human figures of the poet and the orator; such interlocution reflected the close relation between the two arts - oratory and literature. The purpose of it is clear: to give to the one who pronounces a speech the means through which this same speech should be efficiently constructed, so that the orator could conciliate speech and writing, objective reality and fiction artifacts.
