Resumo: | The research is developed on the interface of the academic field of the relationships between the individual and the urban territory, and the studies of the perception of urban insecurity and urban violence. It is argued that the indicators of violence must be read from a perspective linked to the urban territory. In a mixophobic society guided by the logic of the market, we seek to identify how the perception of insecurity is fed back in the urban territory and its relation to the spatial experience, introducing the individual as the main interlocutor of this narrative. To this end, we use the theoretical-methodological framework of territorial analyses and sense of place as a guideline for the study of the Buritis, a neighborhood located in the western region of Belo Horizonte - MG. The results of the dissertation point to the relevance of reversing the disarticulation between the residents' narrative and the indicators of urban violence, showing how the perception of insecurity is fostered by structural characteristics that infer fear as a commodity and an inseparable aspect of daily life in the city. |
