Resumo: The aim of this work is to analyze the behavior and the strength ofcomposite slabs after the hardening of the concrete. In order to do this, an experimental investigation using CODEME Engenharia Ltda.s Steel Deck CE-75, was done to identify and to evaluate the parameters that affect the composite systems global characteristics. The test program, consisting in a series of 12 specimens in full-scale and one-way single span, had followed most important international recommendations about this subject. Analysis results were done considering load ¥ end-slip curves, load ¥ midspan deflection curves and load ¥ steel strain curves. This analysis allowed to know the composite slabs behavior and to describe precisely the failure mode, namely shear-bond failure. Based on experimental results of this investigation, the objective was to establish criteria and to determine analytical expression for the design of the load carrying capacity of this failure mode through the m e k method and partial interaction method. Finally design expressions used on designing with composite slabs to verify the ultimate limit state and serviceability state of this kind of floor, according several rules and foreigner specifications, were presented. The application in two practical examples showed the usage of criteria presented which lead to adequate and safe results.
