There are several reasons to monitor how the environment affects a company. Among these reasons it is possible to highlight the five most important as: cost reduction; response to investor demand; facilitate regulatory approvals; mitigate operational risks and optimize procurement and meet sustainable demands. In this sense, the presentation of environmental variables such as measures capable of altering the companies efficiency scores, and therefore the financial figures that would be necessary to reduce to achieve maximum efficiency, helps managers to better understand the impacts of environmental variables and take more assertive decisions. Considering that there arefew public tools that allow managers to assess the impact of environmental variables such as the explained way, this Master aims to investigate and present a case study on the impact of environmental variables on operational efficiency analysis in energy companies. To this end, we intend to study the network maintenance process of Cemig S/A (Cemig D), which is one of the leading power companies in the country.
