This dissertation aims to study the figure of the narrator in three biblical novels by the Brazilian writer Moacyr Scliar namely, A mulher que escreveu a Bíblia, Os vendilhões do templo e Manual da paixão solitária. For such a study of the evolution of the concept of the narrator in the theory of literature and how the gaucho writer articulates this textual authority in his fictional discourse will be undertaken. And then will assess the intertextual dialogue between the Bible and literature and, as from these interrelationships is configured to produce a fiction focused on rewriting the Scriptures. Finally, the novels will be analyzed starting from its multiple narrators, who, as discursive strategies of the gaucho author were decisive for structure their parody recreations of the biblical text.
