A socialização em grupos religiosos católicos: repercussões nas trajetórias escolares longevas nos meios populares

Resumo: This research aims at understanding the influence of integration to Catholic religious groups in the formation of longevity education pathways of popular origin university students. The subjects were fifteen graduates of different lectures at the Universidade do Estado da Bahia UNEB attending Catholic religious groups at the Diocese of Caetité -Bahia. To achieve the proposed objectives for the work a methodology based on the qualitative assumptions of research, were adopted and for data collection semi-structured interviews and documentary analysis were used as technique. Data analysis relied on dialogue with authors who discuss the socialization of the subject (BOURDIEU, 1998, 2001; ELIAS, 1994; LAHIRE, 2002, 2007) and research the school longevity in popular media (LAURENS, 1992; VIANA, 2007; LACERDA, 2006; SOUZA e SILVA, 2003; PORTES, 1993, 2001; SOUZA, M., 2009, ZAGO, 2005). The results show that the socializing experiences experienced by young people in religious groups constitute a significant factor of influence on the definition of a successful education pathway. Of an interpretation of these education pathway histories, made from the vertical analysis of cases and cross-sectional analysis of one case in particular, it was established that the inclusion of them in Catholic religious groups provided a framing of favorable conditions for extended learning. Material and subjective conditions, arising from the expansion of a network of interdependent relationships, allowed the construction and upgrading of certain social legislation relating to knowledge of self, the self-esteem, social impairment, autonomy and planning, as well as provisions related to the horizon of the future are important resources for the longevity of education.
