Resumo: This thesis is divided in four chapters, the general objective is to delineate a poetic library within Portuguese poet Alexandre O’Neill publications´ profiles and it establishes a Brazilian literary stand to show his character as a poet-reader. Based on this purpose the poetic set conception within the work from the author is disseminated, which indicates an eclectic reader. Throughout the O'Neill's poetic section research, it was necessary to look at the author's own work collection. The collection is at the Alexandre O'Neill Municipal Library in Constância, Portugal and it is constituted by a repository of texts and books available on the website created in his honor. Thus, in order to prove that the Portuguese poet was a reader of Brazilian poetry thesis, the research started from a bibliographical investigation and the literary texts analysis with poetic shelves materialized within the lines of his poems. Initially, the poet is situated in his own poetics and then it is presented to the poet-reader and to the critic in a section of Brazilian poetry. Secondly, it focuses on the sectors that referrers to the writers Carlos Drummond de Andrade and Murilo Mendes which is in the O’neillian poems. Finally, there is an analysis from the section dedicated to the poet Vinicius de Morais which discusses his friendship bond inside and outside the poetic writings. For this, a brief summary was created for each Brazilian author to elucidate the poetry trail on the Portuguese poet´s books. Therefore, the literary library with the Portuguese writer and his poetic creations was assembled and it highlights the insatiable reader since he revisited the poems and had his love for Brazilian literature marked in his writings. The results indicate that there is, indeed, an internal collection in O’Neill's poems, which reaffirms his image as a text poet-reader by Brazilian authors who are eternally pictured in his work.
