Resumo: | This dissertation is the result of an investigation based on psychoanalysis. Bibliographic research and case study were used as methodologies. Starting from the concept of fundamentalism and relying on the fact that there is no discourse that might not be a semblance, let us undertake a reading of fundamentalism as an attempt to reestablish reality, through the belief in an absolute truth. From this perspective, fundamentalism presents itself as a form of treatment for angst and, as such, as a reaction to generalized foreclosure, which, in turn, was reinforced by the operation of reflective reason, meaning it is an essential characteristic of modernity. We delimit fundamentalism as a form of social bond, and therefore, as a mass phenomenon. It then appears as a form of protection against the real, which becomes an issue for all, as a result of the unveiling of the non-existence of the Other, provoked by the operation of reflexive reason. |
