This work seeks to present Laplanche’s main elaborations on the psychic operations that enable the subject’s entry into a temporality. To this end, the notion of time is discussed, based on some Freudian propositions, aiming to situate it, in a second moment, within the psychoanalytic proposal of the general theory of seduction. It is indicated, with Laplanche, that human temporal experience is necessarily intertwined with the other of the original situation. This work is divided into two articles: the first seeks to highlight how Laplanche puts to work the notion of time in Freud, based on the texts Le temps et l’autre [Time and the other] (1991) and Temporalité et traduction : pour une remise au travail de la philosophie du temps [Temporality and translation: for a return to the question of the philosophy of time] (1989). The second article focuses on the temporal aspect of the après-coup phenomenon, discussing its framing from the Freudian restricted theory of seduction to the general theory of seduction.
