This research seeks to analyze the relationship of controls and resistances present in the case involving the farmer Leodegário Aguiar. The documentation present in the Public Archive of the State of Maranhão (APEM) contributed to the idea of new forms of control, including the language of the police apparatus itself, and the micro-resistance perpetrated by the farmer in relation to the process of expansion of the “grilagem” in the field.
