Resumo: |
This text analyzes the relationships built between the Maracanã community and DISAL (Industrial District of São Luís), from the 1980s, in the context of expansion of the capitalist mode of production, in the rural area of São Luís. To this end, we work with the theory of uneven and combined development and to understand the relationships between the aforementioned community and the Industrial Park in question, we use scholars who have focused on the dynamics of the capitalist mode of production, such as: Marx (2011, 2010 , 2003, 2001), Harvey (2011), Hobsbawm (2014, 2010, 2008), Lênin (2017), Smith (1988), Marini (2017), Fernandes (2008, 1995), Oliveira (2003) and Thompson (2019 ); in addition to works referring to the Maracanã community, namely: Araujo (2019, 2012, 2010), Ferraz (2014), Carvalho (1995) and Costa (1987). As a guiding question for this study, we have: how has the process of constitution of capitalism and its specificities occurred in the Maracanã community? In the methodological aspect, it operates with bibliographical and documentary work (Newspapers, Master Plan, Reports, Decrees, Censuses and images) and oral records through the testimonies of people from the Maracanã community. Thus, this study shows that in the Maracanã region and, consequently, in the rural area of São Luís, there is the development of a very specific capitalist mode of production through the dialectical movement between practices considered “traditional” and others “modern”. ”, noting the uneven and combined development in the region, and, considering the customs built over time in the Maracanã community as a way of confronting the current capitalist expansion. |
