Resumo: Objective: To analyze and compare the acute hemodynamic variations, in the perception of exertion and blood lactate concentration in individuals using surgical face mask in high intensity exercises. Material and method: This is a quasi-experimental study where hemodynamic variables, perceived exertion and blood lactate concentration were inferred during the Crossfit® EMOM protocol using a surgical face mask or distancing between participants without masks. The study consisted of 13 individuals, 9 men and 4 women. Results: Our results suggest that this exercise model (EMOM) changes heart rate, lactate, systolic blood pressure and subjective exertion scale in relation to both groups (with and without mask). Conclusion: the practice of high-intensity exercises, as in the CrossFit® EMOM protocol, using or not using surgical face masks, did not significantly alter the hemodynamic variables, the perception of exertion and the blood lactate concentration evaluated. Bearing in mind that only psychological perceptions (discomfort) were reported by the participants.
