The dissertation proposes an analysis of the cinematographic resources and the urban identity of the film "Muleque te doido!" (2014). The aim is to understand how the resources used in the film and the elements from São Luís identity are presented and how this has possibly influenced its success. Thus, we initially show a timeline of cinema in Maranhão, with emphasis on the production of fiction feature films. At this stage, we explain that this type of production had a late beginning in the State and was marked by informality and lack of investments. We verified that, out of the 15 feature films we cataloged, only five got the Ancine registration. In the second chapter we set out for a study of the main cinematographic resources used in Muleque te doido! (2014). Thus, we identified that the film has a language that was influenced by the cinema produced in Hollywood but with the strong presence of São Luís culture. In the last part of the research we described how the elements of this culture were used in the film based on the main representations of the city: São Luís as a setting; the mention to "Bota Preta" gang and "Loka do Rio Anil"; the references to Bumba-meu-boi characters; the Legend of the Enchanted Serpent and the typical language of people from São Luís. All these themes come up in Muleque te doido! (2014) as elements that ratify the identity of the spectator who shares that same symbolic universe. |
