Resumo: |
The present work, inserted in the field of lexicon studies, aimed to elaborate a multimodal semi-bilingual Portuguese Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) glossary, having as object of study the lexicon universe of beverages. The research was developed in São Luís, capital of Maranhão state, Brazil. The work takes into account the signs used by the deaf signers of Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) and their correspondence in the Portuguese Language, aiming to identify these lexias and register them in order to preserve the intangible heritage of the culture from São Luís. Thus, it starts from the theoretical-methodological studies of the sciences of the lexicon on the bias of Lexicology and Lexicography, with the studies of Barbosa (1981, 1986, 1995, 2001), Biderman (1978, 1981, 1984, 1998, 2001) and Faulstich (1998, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2014); from the perspective of social investigation of socio- linguistics studies, with the works of Coelho et al. (2015), Labov (2008, 2010) and Mollica and Braga (2019); and investigative studies on the lexicon of Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), proposed by Faria-Nascimento (2009), Nascimento (2016), Quadros and Karnopp (2004) and Ribeiro (2013). The lexias were extracted from an analysis corpus, composed by eight interviews with deaf informants, Libras signers, over 18 years old, being four men and four women evenly distributed in two age groups – age group I (18 to 30 years old) and age group II (40 to 65 years old) – born and residing in São Luís. The data were collected through field research with the application of a semantic-lexical questionnaire (QSL) composed of questions about the lexical universe under study – with the help of images about the drinks, in order to obtain a greater number of representative lexical units of the site under study. The glossary, composed of 126 lexias, comprises two conceptual fields, alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic beverages, following, thus, the classification adopted by Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA). With the results achieved in this research, it is expected, on the one hand, to contribute to fill a gap in the context of beverage lexicon in a Portuguese-Libras multimodal semi-bilingual perspective, which will certainly reduce the noise of communication between deaf people and listeners in society. On the other hand, it seeks to encourage further investigations in a vast field still little explored. |
