The present study there investigated the level of Physical Activity (AF) and associate factors of students of the University City Dom Delgado of the Federal University of Maranhão in Saint Luís - MA. It is the initial phase of the project MOVER FOR HEALTH that has the objective to evaluate at the level of Physical Activity and lifestyle of servants and students of the UFMA. This work was carried out with a representative sample of 1.034 students enrolled in the first semester of 2018 in present courses of the university. The sampling process was become stratified, random and proportionally to the courses, period of study (daytime and nocturnal) and year of entry in the university. The collections were carried out through the Map of Physical Activity and Health - MAFIS, when there is evalued the Level of Physical Activity (NAF), when the independent variables are used: Physical Activity in the Leisure (AFL), Sedentary Behavior in the Leisure (CSL), Physical Activity in the Dislocation (AFD) and Occupational Physical Activity (AFO), with cut point of March to September of 2018. The data were treated in the Program SPSS Program (version 22.0), the Reason of Predominance (PR) was employed like association measure, in the brutish and adjusted analyzes. The adopted signification level was of 5%. The results point for a low level of physical activity of the students, when the AFD and AFO are both of 25%, to AFL 43.9% associated to the CSL (47.8%). Among the analysed associate factors, the students who reside with children younger than 5 years, have 70% fewer chances to become physically active regarding those who have no children. The results of this study, they reveal to the importance of the implementing institutional politics for to the promotion of the Physical Activity, improvement of the health and quality of life of the students of the UFMA, as well as crystallizes the necessity of the continuity of the Project MOVER FOR HEALTH, having in mind what supplies diagnosis on the subject, being used by the institution, besides contributing in the formation of each student participating in the investigation, making them so, conscious and multipliers of the importance of the practice of physical activity for his health. |
