This academic article approaches the theme of cinema with a focus on the aesthetic characterization and an attempt to approach the philosophical thought of Walter Benjamin and the cinematic production of Glauber Rocha. The problem that constituted the central axis of the analysis starts from the following question: How to read Glauber Rocha in the light of Benjaminian concepts? To analyze the proposed problem, we adopted the bibliographic research procedure, with emphasis on studies of works by Glauber Rocha (1965, 1980) and Walter Benjamin (1955, 1984) that we chose as a theoretical reference. As proposed objectives, we identify and characterize some aesthetic foundations about cinema in Benjamin and Glauber Rocha and establish possible approximations regarding the aesthetic form proposed for cinema by these authors.
