Resumo: |
This dissertation investigates the monopsony power of the State and its impact on workers’ incomes, both in the public sector and in the private sector. In addition, this research analyzes the role of the concentration of workers in the public sector in the occupations of teachers in the private sector. To achieve these objectives, income equations are estimated using the quantile regression method, based on PNAD (IBGE) data from 2012 to 2015. The greater the participation of the public sector in the total number of workers, the smaller the income of civil servants. Furthermore, the concentration of workers in the public sector is also relevant for the determination of income in the private sector. The results show that the concentration of workers in the public sector is associated with a negative effect on the incomes of civil servants, while in the private sector the effect is positive. |
