Resumo: This masters reseach adressed the thirteen government proposalsofficialy registered by the candidates to the presidency of the republic in the 2018 elections, aiming at the analysis of the gender discourses which emerged there, from the lens of social feminist theory. The analysis resulted in the classification of the proposals in three main discoursive repertoires. The first repertoire was observed in the proposals of six candidates which embraced the gender perspective as a category of world analysis and political action, even assuming a vocabulary typical of feminisms. A constructionist notion on gender relations prevailed in this first case. The second repertoire gathered four government proposals, which varied among the concealment of gender to discrete concessions to women, black people and LGBT people from a neoliberal political alignment. The third and last repertoire includes three government proposals, including the elected president´s one, and is tied to an essencialist, familist and conservative perspective, mobilizing the discourse category “ideology” to refer to gender. After the analysis of the three repertoires and its inter-relations it was possible to conclude that the debate around the category of gender in the 2018 elections has put it in evidence and afirmed its transforming and order destabilizing potencial. The dispute around the meanings of gender has taken a central role in the Brazilian political arena, serving as a canalizing vocabulary to a series of stablished conflits in the past years.
