Resumo: This study aimed to conduct a scientific research on knowledge management in one of the largest real estate developers in the country. We sought to examine whether the actions of coaching and training of the trainee program contributed to the spread of tacit and explicit knowledge. It was used as the basis of study of the model creation and dissemination of knowledge offered by Nonaka and Takeuchi (1997, 2008). The methodology was carried out a qualitative research that used in their data collection qualitative and quantitative instruments, in the form of a case. To strengthen the consistency of results, it was sought, in the collection of data surrounding the object of study through a methodological triangulation, which associated techniques from records, a questionnaire to former trainees in the program and questionnaire to the directors of business areas during the 2008 trainee program. Due to the quantitative questionnaire applied to ex-trainees, the methodology of the Ranking Medium (RM) that calculate the degree of agreement of the survey participants. It was also indicated using the Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and reliability of the tool to ensure its internal consistency. As a result of research, it was observed that the actions of coaching and training program offered by the trainee contributed to the spread of tacit and explicit knowledge in the developer investigated. Besides that, the dissemination of knowledge contributed to the formation of a skilled talent pool but not necessarily for the early formation of business managers, as the company's expectations.
